Get Ahead Project Schools are low-fee, independent schools situated in Queenstown and Whittlesea, roughly 180km from East London in the Eastern Cape. Our students are all black African youth, from local rural townships. We pride ourselves in ensuring our schools live up to our mission of making “every child feel worthy and validated”.

Get Ahead Project was established in 1992, with the sole objective of “getting” black, Xhosa speaking pre-schoolers “ahead”, affording them the opportunity to apply at English medium schools of their choice. However, the parents were so happy with Get Ahead Project that they insisted on expansion of the school. What started with one class of 26 children has evolved into a fully functional primary and high school, spread across three campuses. We currently have an enrolment of 1,200 students from Grade 0 to Grade 12.

MAKERSPACE & STEAM EDUCATION

Makerspace is a designated area where DIY meets education. STEAM educates students in five specific disciplines – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics – in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

WHOLE SCHOOL WELLNESS

Whole School Wellness focuses on cultivating an environment and culture that supports the physical, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of every student.

EXTRA MURAL ACTIVITIES

Get Ahead offers our students sporting activities (netball, soccer) and Cultural activities (choir, art, chess)
